Adobong Labong ( bamboo shoot adobo)

There are times that when we see foods not familiar to us, we tend to ask the cook about the taste or just  taste it and see if it is yummy enough to try it. The food I'm about to share is my nanay's recipe..I asked her if I could try it and see if it will pass her taste.

 Maybe it is already familiar to some but to those who doesn't eat "bamboo", (lol)... they might say yaiiks..! Hey, its worth a try. Bamboo shoot is already used  in menus... for dinengdeng, achara and ginataan.here's another recipe.

Ingredients:

1 kilo bamboo shoot/ labong (cut into strips)
1/2 pork ( cut into size you want)
1/2 tbsp black pepper
1 large onion,peeled and sliced
2 large onion, peeled and chopped
half cup soy sauce
half cup vinegar
2 tbsp sugar
2 tsp canola oil

Instructions:.
1) Boil bamboo shoot until tender.drain and compress afterwards.
2)combine onion, garlic,soy sauce,vinegar, sugar, and pepper. pour into drained shoots
3) Heat large wok/pan and add oil.saute a garlic, onion and then the pork.cook until pork is tender
4) Add the bamboo shoot.Stir for 4-5 minutes.
5)Add seasonings to taste .
7) Serve warm..match with rice.enjoy!
